Savoury Oatmeal Breakfast

I love love anything savoury. When I start exploring wonderful world of healthy eating, I starting to converting my favourite recipe and applied it into new way of cooking with healthier ingredient, for example, I really love capers, smoke paprika, coconut milk, and tried to put them on my oatmeal porridge, and obviously I become in love with oatmeal, I become seeing oatmeal in new perspective way, since I used to really hate oatmeal.

It is such a giving epiphany to me, that you can turn ingredient that you used to hate, put them in different perspective, dress them and DANG you become in love with them.

I stil swimming in shallow water on healthy way of cooking, exploring which ingredient that I love and how to cook them to suit my preference. I am not considering myself as vegan, even though lately I found that every time after having meal on meat base food, I feel not really comfortable, such a feeling that there is something wrong in my stomach, something bad happen, give me like jelly feeling and a bit lethargic that not related to carb, I already cut quite good amount of carb, since eating too much carb always make me feel so sleepy. But still when I cooked lovely smell beef/chicken base food, I can’t resist to try some haha.

And opposite to that, things that I learn after trying to eat as much as vegetable and fruit as I could, I feel more energises, I feel a lot of positive feeling,  feel a lot fresher, my skin becoming more smooth and got moisturise, I got this quite sensitive skin that easily getting dry (I still remember my flaky face when the first time I arrive here, from 30C temperature go to 10C with different humidity compare to Jakarta, what a shock), when my skin getting dry I would getting rashes and will be quite painful, skin care also not really help since I am kind of person that don’t have enough patient to keep applied it in every hour. I feel so lucky that since I change my eating habit little at a time, I found out this good eating habit having significant impact on my health mentally and physically. Even still, my kids especially my son are fan of meat base food, so will still cooked for them some meat base meal and seafood haha. But decide by my personal choice I’ll push my limit to maximise my eating habit as healthy as possible.

Honestly I haven’t try any other healthy ingredient like quinoa, lentil and any other grain and legume for my experiment, and just imagine it, it give me such a lot excitement on what I can do with that, just explore basic oatmeal so far,  but I already got a bursting idea in my mind haha, and I am thinking to do it one by one, complement by complement to see which one are work to another.

I got this 2 recipe followed for savoury oatmeal breakfast, the first I cooked the oatmeal with tangy capers, together with white pepper, it create edgy breakfast that serve together with sautéed mushroom (the sautéed mushroom recipe already available in previous post, just quick and easy recipe) and chunky almond. The second recipe I cooked the oatmeal with spicy smoke paprika (yessss delicious Spanish smoke paprika) and sea salt, companied by sautéed spinach in sesame oil, big yassss and bunch of veggie. Here all you need;

You can add slice avocado, adding some cucumber or half boiled egg if you are not vegan, or even grilled skinless chicken breast. The option are endless *wink
