WONTON WITH LEMON AND SESAME OIL SAUCE

I told you, I’ve been thinking about food all the time, I made this few days ago actually. I know that I still have some un-cooked wonton in my fridge, I just can not help it. I don’t want soup, I want to fried it, but again? fried something. Then I decide to boiled it until the wonton floating happily in boiling water. Then what about the sauce?

Well about the sauce, usually I put anything with my sweet spicy chilli sauce, but I don’t have any left in my storage, then I was thinking about this. Sesame oil is good, it is rich with smoky flavour, while for the saltiness I put my faith on light soya sauce, at first I tempted to put some sweet soy sauce for instance sweetness, but the taste would be quite intense for this soft and sweet wonton, then I decide to used light brown sugar instead and voila. While the surprise ingredient are lemon juice, it adding such of sharpness that balance the mellowness of the wonton.

How to : it is just simply cooked the wonton in boiling water until floating in the surface, then take it out and put separately in the plate, other wise it will be stick to each other.

THE SAUCE

INGREDIENT

  • 1 tbs light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tbs sesame oil
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • Toasted sesame seed to serve
  • 1 scallion or spring onion, finely chop to serve

HOW TO

  1. Put all the ingredient together and stir it very well. Put it on top of the wonton then sprinkle with sesame seed and scallion. Put it 1 table spoon first, the sauce have really strong taste.
  2. For any left sauce, you also able to used it for salad dressing or for fried tofu sauce, hmm sound interesting isn’t it?

NOTE:if you dare you also can used some chop chilli or sprinkle spicy dried chilli.
